Rebound Tonometer
The rebound tonometer is an ophthalmic instrument used to measure intraocular pressure. It indirectly measures intraocular pressure by assessing the rebound velocity of the eye's surface, belonging to a non-invasive measurement method. Its characteristics include simplicity and ease of use, speed, and accuracy. During measurement, it does not need to make contact with the eyeball—only the measuring head needs to be brought close to the eye's surface—and no anesthetics or dyes are required, causing no irritation or harm to the patient. It provides important intraocular pressure information for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. It is primarily used to measure intraocular pressure, assist in the early screening and diagnosis of eye diseases such as glaucoma, and can also be used to monitor and evaluate the treatment effect in glaucoma patients, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of other eye diseases associated with elevated intraocular pressure (such as eye infections and eye injuries).
